I bought some new shoes, but I can't wear them because I was attacked by stupid chiggers at the wedding. Chiggers are a fact of life in Texas. Stupid Texas. I've gone through half a tube of Cortizone-10 and I'm still itching. Stupid bad habit of biting my fingernails. Grrrrr.

my apologies on the chigger bites. they suck. i got attacked by some last week. have about 50 or so on my legs. have you tried chiggex (something like that)? it's a white lotion. stops the itching... it's wonderful. :)

I realize I am a little late in reading your post and replying, but for future reference (because it is just the beginning of chigger season here) Burt's Bees makes an AWESOME insect repellent. We had a family reunion here (I'm in N. TX) and I put it on my and my kids and we were blessedly chigger free. Everyone who made fun of us for smelling like a citronella candle or whatever was COVERED in chiggers, like chigger pants. That's what they get for scoffing. I'd rather smell funny than have chiggers (and at least it isn't poisonous). Oh, and if you put clear (or even colored) fingernail polish on them, they die almost instantly and the itching stops.
