Yesterday we received a shock... our beloved 97.1 The Eagle (KEGL) switched formats without any warning. Instead of the hard rock we love, we'll now be subjected to "Sunny music all day!" from the new Sunny 97.1. *gag* I must remember to reprogram every radio preset I have and then send nasty email with lots of bad words to Clear Channel.
Zack was at the grocery store yesterday and he was almost maimed by a local celebrity pushing a shopping cart. Victoria Snee from the WB news station. How funny. I'm surprised she was buying food, because I'm pretty sure the woman hasn't eaten anything in at least five years.

I knew that it was changing and eagerly waiting. I guess you don't read the newspaper. It's only fair since they took one of my stations and turned it into a RAP something or other.

Ours changed too.. but I found one that is on S Padre that comes in fairly clear.. meaning that noone has gotten wind of the music that is on there. you know.. stuff WE like.. lol. For now, it is good till more people listen to it, then it gets changed.. and well... here we are.

this is why I listen to the oldies station. nothing ever changes and the 10th caller will get tickets to the Styx/Peter Frampton show.

Isn't that freaky when radio stations do that? It's like a paradigm shift or Twilight Zone moment. Freaky. Too damn freaky.

I talked to a couple of people who got axed in the format change and they were told nothing about it. Literally they went to work with everything being hunky-dorey and the next morning. BAM.
Apparently the management and sales guy knew. That's about it. Now with everything on digital, they don't even have to tell the engineers (in the past, they would load all the songs).
Sucks.

erg.. that hurts to hear about the eagle. it reminds me of when Q102 switched.

Q102 was one of the last good stations, along with Z-Rock and The ZOO. I remember how devistated I was when Q102 was shit-canned and turned into "Urban Contemporary" UGH!
Even though I hate Klear Khannel Kommunications, I still listen to KZPS (because that damned metal box I work in can't pick up the 93.3 The Bone.
But good news for many of you with stron enough radios, you can pick up 102.5 The Bear (whats with the animal names?) in Waco. They still run "Manditory Metallica". I guess if I want to hear rock from my school daze I'll have to listen to the Edge. Unless it's gone ghetto aswell. Fuck it, I'm getting XM.
