My brother is an idiot. I met him at Alysia's work this afternoon so we could go to lunch. He rode his stupid motorcycle while Alysia and I took my car. As we were approaching a stoplight Larry did an endo. (FYI - an endo is when a rider hits his front brakes and balances on only his front wheel.) If I hadn't been paying attention I would have run his dumb ass over. Then when we were approaching the highway he did a wheelie. A very -long- wheelie. Was he wearing a helmet? No. It scares the hell out of me to know that he's riding a bike. I do not want to see my baby brother in a coffin. Damn him.
My parents ride Harleys. Dad has two Road Kings and Mom has a Sportster. I can't stand to watch them ride, either. They're both good, safe drivers... but people in cars just don't pay enough attention to motorcycles. :(
On a happier note, my dental went fine today. Other than the wisdoms my teeth are top notch. I have an appointment on Monday, January 21st, to get them removed. The wisdoms, that is. Rah.

I love Harleys Suzie!! Spent many a day in my younger years tearing down the highway on the back of one of them.

Speaking as a relatively new sportbike rider, it's something you just have to do. Riding a motorcycle can be perfectly safe, if you know what you're doing. But, if you have to know when and where to do things.
Oh, and tell him that you'll bash his teeth in with a rock unless he wears a helmet. That's just stupid.
Nice bike.

As an avid sportbike rider (CBR929:) and a firefighter, I have several comments. Wear your damn helmet. I've seen several crushed skull as well as dismembered and torn bodies ranging from homicides to vehicle accidents. You can't always rely on your own skill and vision, and you may be that one person that ends up a statistic when grandma or grandpa thinks the light is green. Wearing the equipment that is designed to save your hide...will. As a fellow rider, my crew has it's share of fun in the beautiful california sun, but we do it on straight, flat roads with little traffic and in full gear. Don't end up a statistic, I don't want to clean up the mess you make.

I'm 30 years old and have ridden for 20 years. Sorry Chris, riding motorcycles is NEVER "perfectly safe". There is always a risk. And so, the risk rises when you go fast, do wheelies and stopies, etc...

I think that Mike guy is a dumb ass. She said it correctly. If she had not been paying attention, she would have hit her brother. In other words, if she was daydreaming instead of paying attention, she would have run into her brother. Some people don't read very well.

"Straight, flat roads", huh? What a waste of a 929. Get a Wing if you're gonna ride roads like that.
And quit whining about what your brother and parents do. It's their choice, live with it.

your brother is an idiot. If he doesn't want to wear a helmet thats his choice, but riding the way you described, it sounds like he's well on his way to removing some scum from the genepool.
